Ponterio sale 155, lot 6196

This specimen was lot 6196 in Ponterio sale 155 (Baltimore, November 2010), where it sold for $546.75. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. Alamos. 8 Reales, 1882-ML. Variety without dot after date. Nice strike. CHOICE BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED." The Alamos mint struck eight reales 1864-95. Many of the early dates are rare but this one is common in all grades.

Recorded mintage: 480,000.
