This specimen was lot 30879 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $5,581.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 10 Pesos 1881/79 Do-P, MS64 NGC. A bold strike with sharp letters in the cap "LIBERTAD." This coin has superb eye appeal, and comes from a small mintage of 2,617 pieces." Ten peso gold pieces are known from the Durango mint for 1872-84 and all dates are rare.
