Sincona sale 18, lot 2918
This specimen was lot 2918 in Sincona sale 18 (Zurich, May 2014), where it sold for CHF 1,300 (about US$1,713 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"20 Pesos 1879. Mexiko. Sehr schön. (republic of Mexico, twenty pesos of 1879, Mexico City mint, very fine.)"
The Mexico City mint was the largest producer of gold twenty pesos, striking them 1870-1905.

Recorded mintage: unknown but not noted as rare.

Specification: 33.84 g, .875 fine gold, .952 troy oz AGW, this specimen 33.80 g.
