This specimen was lot 25148 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 5 Pesos 1877 Zs-S/A, MS64 PCGS, marvelous for the grade and type with vivid orange-gold color, a hammered strike and radiant luster. A premium example that will surely attract significant attention." This type was struck at Zacatecas 1874-92.

Specification: 8.46 g, .875 fine gold, .238 troy oz AGW.
