This specimen is from a series struck 1870-97 at the Zacatecas mint. This specimen was lot 6482 in Ponterio sale 155 (Baltimore, November 2010), where it sold for $115. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 5 Centavos, 1874-ZsA. VERY RARE date, cleaned. FINE." Altho this date is not listed as rare by the SCWC, it is priced twenty times higher than a type coin (1887-97). Assayer A is listed for 1874-76; assayer H is also known for 1870-74.

Specification: 1.35 g, .903 fine silver, 14 mm diameter, .039 troy oz ASW.
