Shown is an 1874-Pi MH 8 reales, one of a type struck at San Luis Potosi 1827-93. Assayer MH is recorded at the Alamos mint for the years 1873-85. The mintage is not recorded but the date is common, especially in the rather drab condition shown here. An overdate, 1874/3, is recorded and awarded a substantial premium. The San Luis Potosi mint opened in 1827 and closed in 1893 and struck copper and silver.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 27.07 g, .903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
