This specimen was lot 71261 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1874-OaAE. NGC Unc Details--Surface Hairlines. Handsome toning and lots of luster with some light adjustment marks on the obverse. Quite attractive despite the details designation." While the Oaxaca mint's eight reales are not rare, they often come poorly made and choice specimens are desirable.

Catalog reference: KM-377.11; DP-Oa19.
