Shown is an 1872-A AM 8 reales, one of a type struck at Alamos 1864-95. Assayer AM is recorded at the Alamos mint for the years 1872-73. The mintage is not recorded but the date is rather scarce, being priced about three times the common dates of the 1890's, even in the rather drab condition shown here. The Alamos mint opened in 1864 and closed in 1895 and struck copper, silver and gold.
