The regular issue of ten centavos ranged 1869-97 from Mexico City, Guanajuato, San Luis Potosi, Zacatecas, Chihuahua, Culiacan, Guadalajara, Alamos, Hermosillo, Durango and even Oaxaca. Guadalajara issued this type 1871-95 and, while most dates are common, this date is rare. The second specimen was lot 8936 in Ponterio sale 159 (Baltimore, March 2011), where it sold for $1,265. The catalog description[1] noted, “MEXICO. Guadalajara. 10 Centavos, 1871-GaC. NGC MS-65."
