This specimen was struck at Mexico City, an early date of a type struck there 1869-90. This date is noted as common. The SCWC mentions 1870/69 and 1870/9 overdates but awards them no premium. Many dates of the balance scale twenty-five centavos are unknown in high grade.

Recorded mintage: 136,000.
