This specimen was lot 30743 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $552.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 4 Escudos, 1868-MoPH. NGC VF Details--Obverse Damage. Dig below book." Assayer PH seems to have operated for 1868 only.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 13.54 g, .875 fine gold, .381 troy oz AGW.
