the Stack's Bowers 2020 NYINC sale, lot 23240
Mexico SB120-23240r.jpg

This specimen is the final date of a series struck 1826-68 at the Guanajuato mint. Unlike most issues, this date is common in all grades, including uncirculated. The SCWC lists only the overdate, 1868/7, and no normal date. The second specimen was lot 23240 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Real, 1868/7-Go YF. Guanajuato Mint. NGC MS-64+. A bold overdate. Well struck with cartwheel luster and a bare hint of toning."

Specification: 3.38 g, .903 fine silver, .098 troy oz ASW.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Catalog reference: KM 372.6.
