This specimen was lot 42600 in Stack's Bowers Winter sale (Baltimore, November 2015), where it sold for $258.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 2 Reales, 1859-GoPF. NGC MS-63. The finest graded example of the date and mint. Mostly white with a faint bluish cast to the luster. Very attractive, not likely you will find a nicer example than what is offered here." The SCWC notes an 1859/7 overdate. The type was struck at Guanajuato 1825-68 with assayer PF recorded for 1848-68.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 6.77 g, .903 fine silver, .196 troy oz ASW.
