This specimen was lot 31981 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico. Republic gold 8 Escudos 1857 Mo-GF UNC Details (Obverse Scratched) NGC, Mexico City mint. Rarely encountered at the uncirculated level, nearly entirely free of the type's chronic central softness of strike, and watery to the extreme." Assayer GF is listed for 1855-57. The SCWC awards no premium for this date.
