The first specimen was part of lot 72519 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2019), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Trio of 8 Reales (3 Pieces), 1856-74. Guanajuato Mint. All PCGS Gold Shield Certified. All Guanajuato Mint. ...2) 1857-Go PF. PCGS AU-58. ...From the Sonoran Sunset Collection." This eight reales is one of a series struck 1825-97 at the Guanajuato mint. This date is common altho the 1857/6 and 1857/5 overdates are somewhat scarce. Assayer PF is recorded for years 1848-61.
