The Culiacan mint struck two escudos 1846-57 and most dates are reasonably available. This specimen was lot 28534 in Heritage sale 3022 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $881.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 2 Escudos 1857C-CE, XF, harshly cleaned. A scarcer provincial mint."

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 6.77 g, .875 fine gold, .190 troy oz AGW.
