The Guanajuato mint struck eight escudos 1825-70 and is one of the abundant mints for that denomination; most dates are common. This specimen was lot 1386 in Ponterio sale 182 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $1,410. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Escudos, 1850-GoPF. NGC AU-53."

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 27.07 g, .875 fine gold, .761 troy oz AGW.
