This specimen was lot 2393 in Goldberg sale 91 (Los Angeles, June 2016), where it sold for $1,057.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico. 8 Escudos, 1850-C CE Sharpness of EF. Hand on book. Polished. Sharpness of Extremely Fine." The Culiacan mint struck eight escudos 1846-70 and most dates are reasonably available.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 27.07 g, .875 fine gold, .760 troy oz AGW.
