This specimen was lot 6392 in Ponterio sale 154 (Baltimore, June 2010), where it sold for $316.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1849-ZsOM. BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED." The Zacatecas mint opened in 1810 and closed in 1905. The SCWC lists no overdates or varieties and notes this date as common, but choice examples always bring a premium. Assayer OM is listed for 1831-55.

Specification: 27.07 g, .903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
