The first specimen was lot 4198 in Goldberg sale 69 (Los Angeles, May, 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description [2] noted, "Mexico. Escudo, 1846/5 Mo MF. Hand on book. According to Richard Long's book, this date is rare. NGC graded EF-45." The SCWC prices this date as common, Long notes it as occasionally available.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.38 g, .875 fine gold, .095 troy oz AGW.
