is specimen was lot 30872 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $881.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic 8 Reales 1836 Do-RM, MS64 NGC. A true condition rarity for a cap and ray 8 Reales struck at the Durango mint. This coin is beautifully toned with hues of blue and red." This eight reales is a product of the Durango mint which struck this type 1825-95. Altho this coin is not rare, there is only one other double overdate listed in the SCWC, the 1836/5/4DoRM. Assayer RM is recorded for the years 1830-48.
