This specimen was lot 6338 in Ponterio sale 155 (Baltimore, November 2010), where it sold for $1,092.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Guanajuato. 8 Reales, 1833-JM. Nice strike, attractive ALMOST UNCIRCULATED." For 1833, the SCWC lists assayers MJ (common) and JM (rare).
