Mexico 1814 8 escudos rev DSLR.jpg

This specimen is an example of the "standard bust" eight escudos struck in Mexico City 1814-21. Altho eight dates exist, it is quite a bit scarcer than the preceding type with the "imaginary bust." The SCWC lists no overdates for this year; assayer JJ is listed for 1811-21.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 27.07 g, .875 fine gold.

Catalog reference: KM 161, Fr-52.
