This specimen was lot 669 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $2,820. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Mainz. Taler, 1794-IA-IL. Friedrich Karl Joseph (1774-1802). NGC MS-65. Finest certified. Traces of adjustment marks. Bright golden hued toning with well struck features. Exceptional quality. From the Rockaway Collection." Recorded mintage: unknown but somewhat scarce.

Specification: silver.
