This specimen was lot 2399 in Stephen Album sale 27 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2017), where it sold for $440.62. The catalog description[1] noted, "MADRAS PRESIDENCY: AR rupee (Masulipatam), year "2". identification confirmed by the placement of pellets & symbols & the illustration by Pridmore, beautifully toned, choice EF, R. A similar piece sold in Horizon Auction 1, Lot 179, for about $364, but this piece is nicer." The SCWC lists years 27 and 37 for this rather scarce type. Year 2 of Shah Alam II = AH 1175 = 1761 AD.
