This specimen was lot 2823 in Sincona sale 13 (Zurich, October 2013), where it sold for 475 CHF (about US$614 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ, Luzern, 40 Batzen (Neutaler) 1796. Gutes vorzüglich-vorzüglich. (Switzerland, city of Luzern, forty batzen (or new thaler) of 1796. Extremely fine to good extremely fine)."
This is the only thaler size coin listed for this canton in the eighteenth century.
