This specimen was lot 24023 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $1,997.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Landau. Free City 1 Florin 4 Kreuzer 1713, AU55 NGC, weakly struck in spots as is typical of siege issues with handsome olive-gold toning. This series was issued by Prince Karl Alexander of Wurttemberg when Landau was besieged by the French in the summer of 1713." Landau later was annexed by France but is now part of Germany again. This issue was accompanied by a half florin two kreuzer (KM 11) and a two florin eight kreuzer (KM 13), all scarce.
