Kwangsi (Guangxi) Province is situated on the southern border, west of Hong Kong and bordering Vietnam. It constitutes the Guangxi Ahuang Autonomous Region, which holds special privledges for the indigenous Zhuang people. Mints operated at various times, with modern mints established in 1905 in two cities (Nanning and Kweilin).

The specimen shown was lot 60425 in Ponterio sale 162 (Hong Kong, August 2011), where it sold for $131. The catalog description[1] noted, " CHINA. Kwangsi-Kwangsea. Cent, Year 8 (1919). 民國八年廣西省造壹仙銅幣。NGC VF-30. Ex: The Frank Robinson Collection."
