The specimen shown is from a type struck in Rome for Italy 1951-2001. It superseded a larger aluminum coin (KM 90) struck 1946-50 which is now quite scarce in nice condition. This date has the highest mintage by a large margin but it still worth more in uncirculated than many later dates which were saved in greater quantity. The 1956 is very rare.
