This type was struck for the kingdom of Italy 1883-1900. It is the final issue from the mint at Milan. Despite being the only issue from that mint, it outnumbers all the Rome mint's production added together. The weight and fineness matches that of a French franc.

Recorded mintage: 16,305,000.

Specification: 5 g, .835 g, .134 troy oz ASW, 23 mm diameter, lettered edge.
