This specimen was lot 3093 in Goldberg sale 98 (Los Angeles, June 2017), where it sold for $60. The catalog description[1] noted, "Israel. 25 Mils, 1949. Open Link. NGC graded MS-61. WINGS." This type was struck in 1949 with two different Jewish dates, JE 5708 and JE 5709 (shown here). Several varieties exist. It was accompanied by one pruta (KM 9), 5 pruta (KM 10), 10 pruta (KM 11), 50 pruta, 100 pruta (KM 14), 250 pruta (KM 15) and 500 pruta. Massive influx of aid from the United States fueled inflation and coinage reforms in 1960, 1980 and 1985.

Recorded mintage: 42,650 (JE 5708) + 650,000 (JE 5709).

Specification: aluminum, 30 mm diameter.
