This specimen was lot 71074 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDONESIA. 5,000 Rupiah, 1974. NGC PROOF-68 ULTRA CAMEO. Wildlife conservation series. Orangutan. Brilliant with hard mirrored fields and frosted cameo devices. No spots, fog or tone." This NCLT was accompanied by a silver 2000 rupiah (KM 39) and gold 100,000 rupiah (KM 41).

Recorded mintage: 43,000 (KM 40) plus 17,000 proofs (KM 40a).

Specification: KM 40: 32 g, .500 fine silver; KM 40a: 35 g, .925 fine silver, both 42 mm diameter.
