This specimen was lot 21422 in Heritage sale 3005 (Long Beach, May 2009), where it sold for $1,092.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 100000 Rupiah 1974, brilliant UNC, Conservation series featuring the Komodo Dragon." This type was struck to the standard of a United States twenty dollar gold piece. Despite some striking designs, Indonesian coins as a class are not popular and this piece sold for little more than its bullion value. It was accompanied by silver 2000 rupiah (KM 39) and 5000 rupiah (KM 40).

Recorded mintage: 5333 plus 1369 proofs.

Specification: 33.43 g, .900 fine gold, .967 troy oz AGW, designed by Leslie Durbin.
