Sincona sale 47, lot 1784
This specimen was lot 1784 in Sincona sale 47 (Zurich, May 2018), where it sold for 80 CHF (about US$92 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Französische Kolonien, Réunion et Maurice, Louis XVI, 1774-1793. 3 Sols 1779 A, Paris. Sehr schön. (French colonies, Reunion and Mauritius, Louis XVI, 1774-93, three sols of 1779, Paris mint. Very fine.)"
The Ile de Bourbon is now Reunion but it is still French. The Ile de France is now Mauritius and fell to the British during the Napoleonic Wars and was a British colony until the 1960's. This type was struck 1779-80 and is cheap in low grade.

Recorded mintage: 1,900,000.
