Sincona sale 33, lot 3322
This specimen was lot 3322 in Sincona sale 33 (Zurich, October 2016), where it sold for 7,000 CHF (about US$8,309 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"UNGARN. Wladislaus II. 1490-1516 1 1/2 Guldiner 1506. Kremnitz. Selten. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (kingdom of Hungary, Vladislaus II, 1490-1516, 1½ guldiner of 1506, Kremnitz mint. Rare, Very fine-extremely fine.)"
This early 1½ thaler was issued from the Kremnitz mint before the disaster of the battle of Mohacs terminated the native Jagiellonian dynasty.
