Hong Kong 1905 50 cents
This specimen was lot 24043 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $192. The catalog description noted, "HONG KONG. 50 Cents, 1905. PCGS AU-58 Secure Holder. Good strike, toned." This type was struck 1902-05 and is not common. No additional fifty cent pieces were struck for Hong Kong until 1951, by which time the coin was brass. British coinage for Hong Kong ceased in 1997 when the island was returned to China.
