Sedwick sale 11, lot 1247

The specimen shown was lot 1247 in Sedwick sale 11 (Winter Park, FL, April 2011), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Honduras, bronze 2 centavos, 1908/7, rare. Unlisted overdate within a rare type, deeply toned VF with dig between E and H, important coin for the specialist." This type is listed in the SCWC for 1907-08 as rare. The two centavos of 1910-13 (KM 69) and 1919-20 (KM 71) is much more plentiful. In 1931, Honduras abandoned the peso, closed her mint and introduced the lempira, minted under contract in Philadelphia.
