Sedwick sale 25, lot 1106

This specimen was lot 1106 in Sedwick sale 25 (Winter Park, FL, May 2019), where it sold for $261.80. The catalog description[1] noted, "Honduras, 25 centavos, 1883, NGC AU 53, finest known in NGC census. KM-50. Nice luster, minor bagmarks and hairlines but practically no wear. NGC #4724563-014." This type is listed for 1883-1908 and priced fairly low but choice specimens are few. The fineness was reduced to 835 thousandths in 1899. This, the first date, is the only one known to be without overdates.
