Honan Province in the south east of China began coin production in 1647. A mint for struck coinage began operation in 1905.

The specimen shown was lot 60169 in Ponterio sale 162 (Hong Kong, August 2011), where it sold for $1912. The catalog description[1] noted, “CHINA. Honan. 10 Cash, ND (ca. 1920). 河南當十銅元。"S" in "CASH" reversed. 反"S"。NGC AU-53 BN. Ex: A.M. Tracey Woodward Collection Ex: The Frank Robinson Collection.”
