Honan Province in the south east of China began coin production in 1647. A mint for struck coinage began operation in 1905.

The specimen shown was lot 60161 in Ponterio sale 162 (Hong Kong, August 2011), where it sold for $191. The catalog description[1] noted, “CHINA. Honan. 100 Cash, Year 20 (1931). 民國二十年河南省造百文。NGC VF-25 BN.”
