This specimen was lot 657 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $558.13. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Hohenlohe-Neuenstein-Oehringen. Taler, 1785-OEKNR. Ludwig Friedrich Karl (1765-1805). NGC AU-53. Nice strike. Even slate toning. Pleasant." This is one of two thalers issued by this insignificant locale in the eighteenth century.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce, verging on rare.
