This specimen was lot 30881 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "Hildesheim. Ferdinand Taler 1630-CG AU Details (Cleaned) NGC, Moritzberg. Mint. A lightly cleaned example from this fleeting issue that presents attractive iridescent tones at the peripheries and golden-gray centers. An appropriate amount of wear is noted for the designated classification, and the surrounding fields are mostly absent any impediments that require mentioning. Most handsome in total and a strong candidate for the type." This type was struck 1623-25, 1630-31 and is not common. Ferdinand of Bavaria was bishop 1623-50 even tho his domain was Lutheran.
