This specimen was lot 11429 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $9,988. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Revolution. Chihuahua. Hidalgo del Parral. 'Bolita' Peso, 1913. NGC AU Details--Surface Hairlines." This silver peso issued in the state of Chihuahua is called the "Bolita" after the circle surrounding the "1" on the reverse. It is one of the better known rarities of revolutionary coinage whereas the regular Hidalgo del Parral peso (KM 611) is only scarce.
