This specimen was lot 50115 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $395. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Hamburg. 20 Mark, 1887-J. NGC XF-45." This type was struck 1875-89 and is among the more common twenty mark of the Second Empire.

Recorded mintage: 251,000 (a slightly better date).

Specification: 7.96 g, .900 fine gold, .230 troy oz AGW.
