Hamburg 1775 ducat Fr-1129
This specimen was lot 24713 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it did not sell. The catalog description noted, "Hamburg. Free City gold Ducat 1775, MS62 NGC, in the name of Joseph II, original surfaces with considerable mint luster, faint wave to the flan." This type was struck 1773-88 in small numbers. Hamburg did not give up minting ducats until 1872, amid the coinage reform resulting from unification.
