This specimen was lot 24716 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $2,233.01. The catalog description[1] noted, "Hamburg. Free City gold 2 Ducats 1771-OHK, AU58 NGC, struck in the name of Joseph II. Nicely toned with light surface marks, very scarce type." This type was struck 1766-71 in small numbers. Hamburg did not give up minting ducats until 1872, amid the coinage reform resulting from unification.
