This specimen was lot 29494 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $1,468.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Hamburg. Free City gold 1/4 Ducat 1680-HL MS65 NGC. Struck in the name of Leopold with a lovely, illustrative design. A stunning example in all respects, with luminous surfaces that boast full mint luster. Very rare in this elite quality." This type is listed for 1680 and 1692 and is scarce.
