This specimen was lot 24704 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Hamburg. Free City gold 2 Ducats 1669-MF, MS61 NGC, sharply struck details on both sides with aged patina and flashy underlying mint luster. Rare type and grade." This type was struck 1669-94 in small numbers. Hamburg did not give up minting ducats until 1872, amid the coinage reform resulting from unification.
