Kunker sale 263, lot 293
This specimen was lot 293 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabruck, June 2015), where it sold for €300 (about US$388 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Hamburg, STADT Reichstaler (32 Schilling) 1645, mit Titel Ferdinands III. Münzmeister Matthias Freude. R Hübsche Patina, sehr schön. (Germany, city of Hamburg, thaler of 1605, in the name of Ferdinand III, mintmaster Matthias Freude. Scarce, nice patina, very fine.)"
This type is listed for 1643-53 along with the very similar Dav-5366 of 1637-46. It is the last of the three towers design thalers struck since the 1550's.
