This specimen was lot 637 in Ponterio sale 182 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $705. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Hamburg. 32 Shilling, 1621. PCGS AU-55 Secure Holder. Pleasing even toning." This type was struck 1619-25. It is technically a 32 schillng piece but is universally classed as a thaler. The city of Hamburg issued coins almost continuously until the end of World War One and the mint there is still in operation, striking coins for the Bundesrepublik Deutschland.
